Second Section Sorted: The Rear of Our Pod Takes Shape!

Hello everyone,

We're making real headway in the Snap Pod workshop—after getting the front ring built and standing, we've now tackled the rear section to close off the back of the prototype. If you're following along, you'll remember the first bit was all about that iconic circular entrance; now the rear adds the structure to make it feel like a proper burrow, ready for the finishing touches.

We kept the same curved plywood approach for the rear—smooth arcs to match the front, joined up neatly, and braced for solidity. It's starting to give the pod that enclosed, cosy vibe we’re after, with space for a window to bring in natural light and a view from the far end. Looking at it all coming together, it's hard not to get excited about curling up inside on a drizzly day.

Here's how it's looking now:

The space is filling out nicely—less open frame and more inviting hideaway. We’re thrilled with how the curves are holding true and the whole thing feels sturdy.

Next job is designing and building the fascia board to cover those exposed plywood curved beams at each end. It'll give a sleek, finished look while tying everything together—watch this space!

Still loads to do, but every step brings us closer to a market-ready pod. We’re loving how the burrow, cosy theme is shaping up—feels authentic without the fuss.

Stick with us—we’ll keep posting as we add the fascias, front door, rear wall, windows, and that grassy roof. Early days, but the momentum is building.

If you’re as keen as we are (or you’ve got a quiet bit of land and fancy being one of the first to host a Snap Pod), pop your email in below for updates, behind-the-scenes peeks, and when we’re ready—first dibs.

Thanks for following along. Rear section: done and dusted. On we go!

Cheers, The Snap Pod Team
