We Bought a Van (and it’s Glorious)
Well, we’ve only gone and done it. Snap Pod now has wheels! Say hello to our newest – and oldest – team member: a 2014 Ford Transit Custom. No, she’s not fresh off the production line, but she’s reliable, sturdy, and most importantly... not cursed with a wet timing belt.
Why does that matter? Well, in Ford-speak, the earlier models like ours use a timing chain, which is far more dependable and doesn’t require costly replacement every 20k miles like the dreaded wet belt. It’s an old-school bit of kit that’ll keep us on the road for years to come.

Why the Van Matters
This isn’t just any van. This van marks the start of Snap Pod’s build phase back in the UK.
We’re gearing up (literally) to install pods, collect materials, and eventually take our modular glamping pods across the country. It’ll haul our timber, our tools, our glulam prototypes, and (probably) our snacks. It’s going to be a workhorse — and a bit of a Snap Pod mascot.
Tools Incoming
Now that we’re back on home turf after 11 months of travel across Asia, it’s time to build out our UK workshop too. Over the next few weeks we’ll be adding some trusty new tools to the mix, including:
- A bandsaw and table saw
- Joinery workbenches
- Clamps, jigs, and hand tools galore
- And yes... the van has plenty of space for all of it
Let the tool envy begin.
What’s Next?
This van is the first of many milestones as Snap Pod enters its next phase:
- Building our first modular glamping pod prototype
- Launching new accessory product lines (already underway!)
- Preparing for on-site pod installations around the UK
- And eventually... a Snap Pod convoy? One step at a time.
